No Contact Rule is designed to provide a private place to track No Contact progress, save personal reminders, and write messages that are never sent. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the No Contact Rule iOS application (the "App").
Summary
Your personal writing and No Contact history stay on your device. The App does not require an account and does not operate a developer-controlled cloud database. We do not use advertising, analytics, tracking, or session-replay technology, and we do not sell personal information.
Information Stored on Your Device
The App can store the following information locally on your device when you choose to create or change it:
- Personal reminders and reasons for maintaining No Contact
- Drafts, completed entries, and archived entries in Unsent
- Optional labels, titles, reflections, feelings, dates, and notes entered by you
- No Contact start dates, session history, reset reasons, milestones, and personal-best progress
- Favorite, hidden, deleted, and archived status for App content
- App preferences, onboarding status, and whether Lifetime Pro features are unlocked
This information is used only to provide the App's features on your device. It is not transmitted to or stored on servers controlled by the developer.
Because the App contains free-form writing fields, you may choose to enter sensitive or personal information. You control what you enter. Please do not enter information you do not want stored on your device or included in your device backups.
Information We Do Not Collect
The developer does not collect personal writing, contact information, location, contacts, photos, audio, browsing history, search history, advertising identifiers, or information about your use of the App.
The App does not include:
- User accounts or sign-in
- Developer-operated cloud storage or synchronization
- Advertising or behavioral tracking
- Third-party analytics or session replay
- Social-media, email, text-message, or message-sending integrations
- Contact-list, photo-library, camera, microphone, health, or location access
In-App Purchases
Lifetime Pro is offered as a one-time in-app purchase through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the purchase and any restoration of that purchase under Apple's own terms and privacy practices. The App uses Apple's StoreKit service to check whether the Lifetime Pro purchase is available or has been completed so that it can unlock the appropriate features.
The developer does not receive or store your payment-card number, bank information, or Apple Account password. The App stores only the local entitlement state needed to make Pro features available. Apple may retain purchase records associated with your Apple Account so that purchases can be restored.
For more information about Apple's handling of information, see [Apple's Privacy Policy](https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).
Device Backups and Apple Services
Information stored by the App may be included in an iCloud, Finder, or other device backup, depending on your device and backup settings. Those backups are controlled by you and the applicable backup provider, not by the developer. Deleting information inside the App or deleting the App from your current device may not remove copies that remain in an older device backup.
Apple may separately process information related to App Store downloads, purchases, sales reporting, crash diagnostics, or device analytics under Apple's privacy practices and your Apple device settings. The App does not intentionally include your private writing in purchase information or developer-operated analytics because it has no such analytics service.
How Information Is Used
Information stored locally by the App is used to:
- Display and manage your reminders and unsent writing
- Calculate and display No Contact progress and milestones
- Remember your preferences and favorites
- Restore the experience when you reopen the App
- Unlock Lifetime Pro features after a valid purchase or restoration
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing profiles, data brokerage, automated decision-making, or tracking across apps or websites.
Sharing and Sale of Information
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal writing or No Contact history with third parties. The App does not send this content to the developer or to advertising, analytics, or social-media companies.
Data Retention and Deletion
Personal information remains in the App's local database until you delete individual content, use **Delete All Personal Data** in Settings, or delete the App from your device.
Using **Delete All Personal Data** permanently removes personal reminders, unsent writing, No Contact session history, and App preferences from the current device. Deleting the App also removes its local App data from the current device. Information may remain in device backups until those backups are deleted or replaced according to your backup settings
The developer cannot view, retrieve, correct, or delete your local content because the developer does not receive or maintain a server copy of it. Apple may continue to retain App Store purchase records as described in Apple's policies. A Lifetime Pro purchase can remain restorable through the Apple Account used for the purchase even after local App data is deleted.
Security
The App uses the protections available on iOS to safeguard locally stored information, including iOS file protection for the local database where available. The App also covers private content when it becomes inactive to reduce exposure in the app switcher.
No storage method or device is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining control of your device, passcode, Apple Account, and backup settings.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any other users. Because personal content remains on the device and is not sent to the developer, we cannot identify the age of an App use
International Use
The App does not transfer your personal writing or No Contact history to developer-controlled servers in the United States or any other country. Apple services, including the App Store and iCloud backup if enabled, may process information in accordance with Apple's terms and privacy practices.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the App's features or information-handling practices change. The revised policy will show a new "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how the App handles personal information, notice will be provided through the App, the App Store listing, or the published policy page as appropriate.
